This Jewelry Box is a part of the Stanton Family Collection here at the Redwood Library. The box is made out of a lightweight, and light colored wood stained to achieve its dark finish. Painted on the face of the box are gold branches with budding flowers. On exterior top of the box an image of a small stream and with wildlife is painted in gold. The interior top of the box is adored with a cream colored painting of a snail, two butterflies, and a branch in bloom. The exterior key lock, handles, and metal work are engraved with floral details. The box has four draws, and a removable compartment. The Jewelry Box also comes with a gold, metal heart shaped lock.
